1) reservoir sign-csf fluid collected in sphenoidal sinus and emptyies into the nose

2) halo sign – CSF mixed with blood and when collected on filter paper

(or handkerchiefit’s showing central red spot(blood) and peripheral lighter halo((CSF)

3) CSF cant be sniffed back

4) CSF doesn’t stiffen the handkerchief

5)CSF Glucose is 60% of blood glucose

B2 transferrin protein detection by electrophoresis is specific and sensitive test for CSF

L Intrathecal fluorescence study is used to detect for site of leak of CSF( fracture cribriform plate of ethmoid is most common

cause of CSF leak)
